NEC Article 430 requires motor overload protection for a motor with a temperature rise marked on the nameplate not over 40°C or a service factor of 1.15 or more to be set at no more than:

• 125% of nameplate FLC
• 140% of nameplate FLC
• 115% of nameplate FLC
• 150% of nameplate FLC
